THE PREDOMINANT MINDSETS that people utilize throughout their lifetime hold the keys to success and fulfillment for every area of life.
Conversely, these mindsets can also bear the keys to failure, unhappiness, and a sense of lack. In this book, we will examine the predominant mindsets that we employ when faced with significant challenges to determine if they help us achieve or hold us back from our goals. In the latter case, we will examine the obstacles the mind is placing before us and specifically the strategies to overcome and replace faulty mindsets with those that serve our interests overall. To do this, we will need to develop an understanding of the mind and then the immense power that the force of habit plays on our subconscious mind.

We will place particular emphasis on the most beneficial mindset that can be used when facing challenging situations and crises. We will show that the default mindsets are usually negative in nature, which lead to negative emotional states and often negative results. If we train our minds to focus on positive mindsets, or at least mindsets that serve our overall better interests, we can turn these crisis situations on their head. Instead of being immobilized by fear, we can seek out opportunities in the crisis and take advantage of them. For instance, during a global pandemic, people may be quarantined in their homes for extended periods. They could panic and focus their attention on the unfairness of it all and on all the things they have no control over. Or perhaps, just perhaps, a global pandemic can inspire the work that matters to them, and to those with whom they are connected, most. They have the choice of what the new restriction means for them, and it all depends on the ‘mindset.’

“A Pessimist Sees the Difficulty in Every Opportunity; an Optimist Sees the Opportunity in Every Difficulty.” – Winston Churchill

Note on Knowledge Application:

There are two kinds of people: those who are serious about taking action to improve their lives, and those who just read about improving their lives with no follow-up actions. If you fall into the second category, please stop reading. The last thing I want to do is waste your time. However, if you fall into the first category, if you really want to make a difference in the quality of your life and other lives that you touch, if you want to get the most out of every moment of each day, if you wish to design the career and life you have only dreamt of to this point, then read on. Absorb the text, apply the lessons, and take the steps that will change your life forever. Please remember that Knowledge –
does not – apply itself. YOU must make the application.

Your lifespan is like the hands on a clock … minute by minute, hour by hour, time slips away until the clock strikes midnight. It is said that when
asked what the biggest mistake is that we make in life, the Buddha replied, “The biggest mistake is that you think you have time.” Don’t delay, seize the day! Allow our limited time here to motivate your actions, not scare you into fear or stillness. Learn and Apply.
