Command your day, improve your health, and revive your life.

The New Year is usually when everyone feels compelled to make positive changes in every aspect of their lives. However, to make these changes long-lasting, we need to build habits until our habits start building us. By applying the “less is more” principle, we can gain a lot by making small changes in our daily life.

If you want to start improving your life quality, you’ll need to take it one day at a time. Begin with small but meaningful steps that you can follow every day. These little adjustments will prove to be very beneficial in establishing more awareness and confidence. It also helps us gain more knowledge and engage in activities that are more aligned with a quality life.

Easy Ways to Improve Life Quality

Here are four things you can implement in your daily life. These will help you open your mind, release stress, and remind you of the good things in life. With a bit of practice, you’ll begin to notice how these small changes lead to a simpler, more meaningful life.

1.   Simplify Your Day

Start your day by defining some daily goals and scheduling priorities. What’s on your calendar? What is more important, and what can be delayed? Many of us tend to over commit, which in turn leaves us feeling drained and sometimes resentful.

Begin each morning by spending some time with yourself. This way, you can assess how you feel before you begin the day. By carefully going over the daily goals, you will get a chance to simplify your days. This will help you feel more alive, and you will also get an opportunity to slow down and cherish the important things in life.

You may soon find that crossing off some unnecessary items will feel like some weight has been lifted off your shoulders. This will lead to a life quality that you can thoroughly enjoy. Here are a few things to try:

  • Make a to-do list and prioritize it.
  • Move less important tasks for another day to make space for yourself.
  • Try journaling to keep track of your feelings and to acknowledge them.
  • Acknowledge what makes you happy and add more of it into your daily to-dos.

2.   Sleep Well and Exercise

It is difficult for our brains and bodies to work when we are tired. Less sleep is directly linked to feeling more tired and sleepy during the day. For a better life quality, you need better sleep. With the proper amount of sleep, our brains and bodies function better. You will be able to perform better at your workplace and your home as well.

When a person feels good, he is useful to others as well. This is why it is essential to take care of your physical and mental health by sleeping better, doing proper exercise daily, and keeping your feelings in check. These things help a person develop better health and perform better in every aspect of life. You will even develop more patience and feel calmer and clear-minded. You will feel fresh and remain in a positive mood throughout the day.

How you feel after waking up tells you exactly how much more or less sleep you need. If you do not feel refreshed, you probably need to sleep more. Or if you feel lazy, that means you need to cut down on the number of hours you sleep. Either way, you must consider sticking to a consistent sleeping schedule. Here are a few tips to get better sleep:

  • Cut off caffeine by 4 pm.
  • Avoid eating anything heavy after 8 pm.
  • Get regular exercise. Exhausting our muscles and bodies can ensure quality sleep.
  • Try setting a wind-down timer on your phone at least 45 minutes before bedtime to ensure going to bed at the same time every day.
  • Limit screen time before bed. You can achieve this by also setting a reminder.
  • Try some evening stretches, deep breathing, or listening to soothing music to calm yourself before sleep.

3.   Prioritize Proper Nutrition

Food is fuel, and good nutrition is one of the keys to better and healthy life quality. You can improve your health by consuming a proper diet full of vitamins and minerals. Such a nutritious diet will make your health better, and this wellness will make you feel more energized and positive.

When you have a healthy diet, it not only has a positive impact on your physical health, but it is beneficial for your mental health as well. Healthy food will make you feel great. Here is a list of healthy snacks for when you feel hungry:

  • Apple and nut butter
  • Cucumber and hummus
  • Dark chocolate and almonds
  • Hard-boiled egg
  • Yogurt and granola
  • Cherry tomatoes and mozzarella

4.   Keep Your Thoughts in Check

The average person could have thoughts of judgment, gratitude, impatience, worry, and appreciation throughout one day. But living in denial of negative feelings is no way of dealing with them. The more you ignore them, the harder they become to handle in the future.

Remember that the best way to deal with negative feelings is to accept them, work on them, and set them free. It takes time and effort, and there are a lot of things that can help with it. Journaling is one of the best ways to deal with all types of negative and positive feelings. It helps you speak up the unsaid truths that you are scared to face and will help you accept your feelings without ignoring them.

Feelings and emotions are a part of being human so welcome them all. They will tell you things about yourself that you may not have noticed.  The more aware you are of your thoughts, the more in control you will become. Let them come and let them go. Here are some tips to help you cope up with your thoughts:

  • Keep a journal to empty your thoughts.
  • Note what makes you feel happy, sad, angry, or anyway.
  • Keep track of where your mind goes when something good or bad happens.
  • Take 3-5 deep breaths when feeling overwhelmed or anxious.
  • Meditation is also a great way of calming yourself during a though storm.

The beauty of these four steps is that they remind you to improve your quality of life. You don’t need to over commit yourself and start doing everything at once. Start small to grow tall, and by integrating one of these each day for a week, you may notice how at peace you are with your life. The goal is you’ll feel more healthy, happy, and present in the life you’re cultivating. You will cherish your life in a better, calmer way, and that is pure happiness in itself.
