Legendary investor and hedge fund manager Julian Robertson has died at the age of 90.

Robertson co-founded Tiger Management, one of the world’s largest and most successful hedge funds, which he ran for two decades. Roberston trained and served as a mentor to multiple generations of notable hedge fund managers, known as “Tiger Cubs.”

Arootah CEO and founder Rich Bello, started his hedge fund career in 1991 working with the billionaire investor.

Rich shares, “The hedge fund industry lost a legend with the passing of Julian. I had the honor of working for and learning from Julian at Tiger Management. Sitting on the trading desk, face-to-face across from the man who brought hedge funds to the mainstream shaped the course of my personal and professional life in learning not only about investments but also about the importance of family and charitable giving.”

Robertson suffered cardiac complications and passed away in his Manhattan home on August 23.

The entire Arootah team sends our deepest condolences to the Robertson family. He will be truly missed and forever remembered.
