How does a child’s ability or inability to delay gratification impact their success later in life? The Marshmallow Study involves children ages 3.5 – 5.5 years old who were left alone in a room with a single tempting marshmallow. The experiment asked the children to wait for 15 minutes without eating the marshmallow. If they succeeded, they were rewarded for their willpower with two marshmallows.

Do you think you could resist eating the marshmallow for 15 minutes when you were around four years old?
